A year ago July I made a decision to change the path of my
life. There were a series of seemingly unrelated events that occurred, and because
I was paying close attention, they added up to me pursuing a career as a Life
Coach. Honestly, it’s something from which I’ve been running since I
was in third grade. It’s been following me around and tapping me on the
shoulder, and then last year someone said, “You should be a life coach!” Never
mind that she said it to the lady sitting next to me! It hit me in the middle
of the forehead like, duh!!! Of course!! That is what I’m supposed to be doing with my
life! And in January, I began my training
with Martha Beck Inc. It’s the best
decision I’ve ever made for myself.
During training, we are coaching. I’ve coached classmates
and friends, and have been told that I’m totally magic, among other things. I
am very passionate about being of service in this way and I’m looking for a few
more clients that I will talk to on a regular basis. It can be over the phone
or via Skype – so it doesn’t matter where you live. Coaching with me now will
be less expensive than it will be once training and certification are over, so
if you are interested in exploring a shift in your life (or know someone who is), I would love to start
talking with you about it now.
What is a Life Coach?
The analogy is used that a physician treats and heals a physically
sick person, and then a coach or personal trainer takes that healthy person and
optimizes their body. You want a better golf swing? You hire a coach. You want
to reshape your body and get stronger? You hire a personal trainer.
Life coaching works in the same way – it takes our lives to the next level. You're stuck
in life and don’t know which way to turn? Life coach. You're having
relationship issues with the people that mean the most to you? Life coach.
You’re ready for change, but don’t know what that looks like? Life coach.
You’re sick of making the same mistakes over and over and over? Life coach.
You’re ready to fall in love with yourself and your life? Elle Jaye.
Introducing Elle Jaye
Jacobsen (a.k.a. Laurie 2.0)
Elle Jaye - that’s me. Along this journey of life coach
training, I have changed and grown so much that I really don’t feel like the
old me anymore. And honestly, don’t tell my mom, but I’ve never been in love with
the name Laurie. I was born Laurie Jean Gies and my brother has always called
me L.J.
A few years ago we got a Wii and for a reason completely
unbeknownst to me, I named my avatar Elle Jaye (L.J., with a twist). Recently, I read this blog post by Flora
Bowley wherein she talks about how she went from being Shannon to Flora. It
was a life-changing, huge “Aha!” moment for me and I will forever be grateful to
her for sharing her story. I can pick? I
can decide what my name is? Yes, yes I can. This time, I’m picking my own name,
and it’s Elle Jaye. So that’s the name of my business, and if you want to start
calling me that, I would love it. I’m not legally changing my name at this
point, but I am Elle Jaye Jacobsen LLC for the business. It feels so right and
so good and so loving to myself. And every time someone calls me Elle or Elle
Jaye, I get a tingle.
A new career and a new name, all deeply rooted in knowing
that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be, doing exactly what I’m supposed to
be doing.
I’ve put up a landing page on www.ellejayejacobsen.com where you
can sign up for my newsletter and schedule a free discovery or paid coaching
session with me.
If you know that you’re ready to get started, you can go
straight to my website and click
the “Schedule Session” button, or if you’d like to chat about it a little
first, you can send me an email at info@ellejayejacobsen.com or a
private Facebook message here: https://www.facebook.com/lauriejjacobsen.
Today I wish for you deep roots of love.
